By participating in local elections, Franklin Township residents have the opportunity to influence issues they care about, advocate for change, and elect representatives who align with their values. Brian Levine, Noah Fofanah, and Frank Kunz want to provide the following information to help our residents stay informed about voting in the 2023 election for Franklin Township Mayor and Council.
IMPORTANT VOTING DEADLINES SEPTEMBER 23RD - Clerk begins sending vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots to voters OCTOBER 17TH - Deadline to register to vote in the General Election OCTOBER 31ST - Deadline to apply for a vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot OCTOBER 28TH - NOVEMBER 5TH - Early in-person voting period NOVEMBER 6TH - Deadline to apply for vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot (in person by 3PM at the Clerk's office in Somerville) NOVEMBER 7TH - Election day voting at your polling place
REGISTERING TO VOTE CRITERIA FOR VOTING IN NJ:
You must be a United States citizen.
You must be at least 17 years old, and understand that you may not vote until reaching the age of 18.
You must be a resident of the county for 30 days before the election.
You are NOT currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction.
The registrant must complete a Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form.

You will need a current, valid driver's license or a non-driver ID card, a social security number, and the ability to sign on screen or upload your signature. EARLY VOTING EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING - This option enables all registered voters to cast their ballot, in person, using a voting machine, prior to the General Election. EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING DATES & TIMES - You may vote in person from October 28th - November 5th. Polling locations are open from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Monday - Saturday and 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM on Sundays. EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING LOCATIONS - There are several places throughout the county where Franklin residents can vote early. Click HERE for a list. REASONS TO VOTE EARLY - To be absolutely sure your voice is heard, please vote early. Voting early helps you avoid lines at the polls and ensures that your vote is cast despite illness, traffic, voting machine issues, or any other unexpected incidents on Election Day. Vote early!
