In local government - transparency, accountability, and checks and balances are necessary elements to ensure a fair and just system. One of Mayor Kramer’s initial actions as mayor, however, was to dissolve the township’s ethics committee. The ethics committee serves as a watchdog that ensures ethical conduct and accountability among elected officials. Our township, like any other, needs oversight and ethical regulation.
